50th Anniversary Dr. Who - Interesting Observations

So as I watched the 50th Anniversary episode of Dr. Who, trying to follow it I came to realize a few interesting things about the series, two to be precise.

The Doctor Count is Off By 1

When we watched the episode near the end we see the "1st" doctor begin to regenerate. Now I have not seen
the earlier Doctors (mainly because it was before my time). However, from how I would guess, the series probably started after the Doctor dealt with Gallifrey.

If this truly is the case, then the 1st Doctor in the series is actually the 2nd. Because as I pointed out in the Anniversary episode, the Doctor regenerates after dealing with Gallifrey.

Of course, for all we know he's regenerated even more then this, but it's from earlier years in his life that we've never really seen

UPDATE: Whoops it appears I might have gotten my count off, and this has been account for (I am getting my numbers mixed up at the moment

Dr. Who's Timeline Explained

There are multiple theories out there of how time really works, and depending on what you watch or read, it might be presented different ways.

As for Dr. Who, it seems the time works in the concept that all moments in time occur at the exact same time. We can see this through out the episode when the Doctor is able to see the results of a decision he made 400 years earlier at the exact same time the decision happens. Of course this wasn't the first time we've seen this, but it more reassures the concept. Of course we could just call it Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey.

Now I should also point out one more thing I found interesting in the episode. People are tied to their time lines in some way (like a tether to it). This builds off what I just said, were the one Doctor's decision effects the others despite the fact they are standing in the same room with each other at the same time. With that you also have to wonder if people are tied across dimensions? (There could be signs of this in other episodes I just haven't gotten around to seeing them).
